Following the Money on the Blockchain: Crypto Crime Trends, Tools, and Case Insights
Crypto investigations, investigative tools (Chainalysis, blockchain tracking) and case studies. Crypto crime trends, globally & in NZ.
ABOUT THE SPEAKER:
Alex Perkins is a financial crime and investigations professional with experience examining complex fraud, money laundering, and emerging risks involving cryptocurrency. Their work includes conducting and supporting crypto-related investigations, leveraging blockchain analytics tools such as Chainalysis to trace illicit transactions and identify typologies. With a focus on practical casework, Alex has worked across both global and New Zealand-based matters, analysing crypto crime trends and translating technical findings into actionable insights. They work closely with investigators, law enforcement, and compliance professionals to strengthen understanding of how blockchain technology is used - and misused - by criminal actors, and to demonstrate how its transparency can be a powerful advantage for investigators.
