TOPIC: The ABC's of Fraud Management in the Early Learning sector.

Ian Leitch, is the National Manager of the Provider Assurance Group (PAG) at the Ministry of Education.  PAG is responsible for the prevention and detection of financial mismanagement and fraud within the early learning sector of New Zealand’s wider education system.

Ian’s presentation will give some background to the highs and lows experienced while building a fraud prevention and detection capability from the ground up, as well offer a sneak peak into a couple of the files the team has worked on.

Ian has worked in the regulatory space for several years across a number of agencies and has recently obtained his CFE credential.

Ian has also been awarded a grant from the ACFE to conduct a research project on fraud prevention and detection within the local and central government sectors in New Zealand.

Ian will talk to how this could benefit you and how you may be able to help this valuable and very relevant research project.
