ACFE NEW ZEALAND CHAPTER

The Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE) is a global, professional association whose members are dedicated to fighting fraud.  ACFE is headquartered in Austin, Texas, USA.  From here the global parent entity supports the International chapters.
 
The first New Zealand chapter was established in 1997 and New Zealand currently has branches in Auckland, Christchurch and Wellington. The chapter members include Certified Fraud Examiners (CFEs), Associate Members,  and those involved with or have an interest in fighting fraud.


BECOME A CHAPTER MEMBER

We welcome applications to join the New Zealand chapter (and region branch) from people interested in fighting fraud, including accountants, internal auditors, fraud investigators, law enforcement personnel, lawyers, business leaders and educators. The New Zealand chapter adheres to the rules and code of ethics as set by ACFE.

An Invitation to Participate in the Global 90-day CFE Exam Challenge


The 90-day CFE Exam Challange, hosted by ACFE Global, is one of the most effective ways to help you prepare for and pass the CFE Exam - in 90 days. If you are not yet CFE-certified, it's not yet too late!

What you get as a challenge participant

  • A proven timeline to keep yourself accountable. You will receive a monthly study plan - and additional study tips every two weeks - to help you complete important tasks and meet milestones along the way. 
  • Weekly guided check-ins with ACFE staff and former challenge participants. While you'll be responsible for creating your own study routine, weekly check-ins will help you meet all of your small goals along the way to passing the CFE Exam. 
  • Access to a private discussion forum with your peers. You'll be a member of a private group in the ACFE Community, where you can exchange study tips and encouragement with fellow future CFEs.

Talk to your Chapter leaders if you are interested in assistance (e.g. sponsorship, mentoring) for the CFE Exam challenge that is available to each of the branches.

2024 Anti-Fraud Technology Benchmarking Report

ACFE have released the latest edition of the 2024 Anti-Fraud Technology Benchmarking Report, developed in partnership with SAS.

The report helps anti-fraud professionals and organisations assess the effectiveness of their anti-fraud technology toolkits.

Highlights from the report include:
- 91% of organizations use data analysis techniques as part of their anti-fraud programs.

Two in five organisations currently use physical biometrics, and another 17% expect to adopt this technology in the next two years.

- 83% of organisations expect to implement generative artificial intelligence (AI) as part of their anti-fraud programs in the next two years.
